About Rae
I’m a Pilipino-American female who has an B.S. in Computer Engineering and Masters in Communication Management. Three months after graduating from college, my long time boyfriend called me up and told me he had one month before the U.S. Army was going to send him to Iraq. Three weeks later, we were married on a beautiful beach on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Alas, my traditional Pilipino Catholic wedding ceremony would have to wait for sometime in the future.
I’ve worked as an engineer straight out of college, but once I moved to Hawaii I got more involved with building online communities and have been doing so ever since.
Since I’ve been back in California I’ve been hanging out with old girlfriends talking about cool things we’ve come across in our jobs and other experiences. And that’s why I wanted to create this place online. We were having these awesome conversations and debates on things I think other young females would like to join in on.
I’m an entrepreneur at heart who has a love for creative and functional design. Because my family has been plagued with illnesses, I’m big on (preventative) healthcare and staying fit. I’m also a huge proponent for education. A phrase that my grandmother passed down was “Education is your weapon in this world.” I’d like to pass that down to my future kids as well.
I dig the internet because of the free exchange of information that can happen online. Hopefully, through this site, we can start productive conversations and keep current ones going.
